AT&T

While working at AT&T Corporate HQ in Downtown Dallas, I learned several important lessons that shaped my budding professional mindset. First, I thrive in a team setting when given real responsibility and decision-making power in projects. Second, I enjoy building and developing relationships with my peers, mentors, and superiors in and outside of the office. Third, I crave a highly dynamic workplace that embraces change, new ideas, and quick thinking over institutional tradition or hierarchy. While serving the College Recruitment & Programs team, I worked on a number of initiatives to enhance the national internship program, including newsletters, networking sessions, and National Intern Day spotlights.

On my final day of work, I presented an overview of my summer at AT&T to the entire College Recruiting team, top-level HR executives, and fellow interns. When developing the deck, I focused on the projects, goals, and outcomes that shaped my work at the company, as well as offered constructive feedback for next summer's internship program. My presentation was very well received by leadership and deemed the best of my intern cohort. Although I wasn't interested in returning to the world of Human Resources, I was grateful for the opportunity to work within a massive global corporation and witness the operational might of a powerful company culture.
